We are a translation agency in Ondarroa, a fishing town on the coast of Bizkaia in the Basque Country. Four translators and a project coordinator who handle professional and sworn translation for businesses, institutions, and individuals across Euskadi.
The agency was started in 2015 by two translators who grew up here. One studied translation in Vitoria-Gasteiz and the other in Bordeaux. Both are native Basque and Spanish speakers. They saw that the translation agencies in the bigger cities charged high prices, were sometimes slow, and often did not have genuine Basque language expertise.
Ondarroa is a working town. The fishing fleet needs documentation translated. The cooperatives need contracts in multiple languages for international partners. The town hall publishes everything bilingually. Families with members in Iparralde need French-Spanish documents. There was plenty of work for a small agency that understood the local needs.
Today we work with clients across the Basque Country and beyond. About half our work is Basque-Spanish translation. The rest involves English, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian. Our sworn translators are appointed by the MAEC and we specialise in industrial, maritime, and legal documents.
